Due to the heavy rains in Nagpur city, a flood-like situation was created in many areas, while a part of the bridge over Nag River collapsed at Panchsheel Chowk. Now this bridge will be reconstructed by the National Highways Authority of India. The construction of the bridge is estimated to cost around 6 crores, the work will take at least 3 to 4 months.
This bridge was built on Nag River between Panchsheel Chowk and Jhansi Rani Chowk. Which was widened and improved in 1974. The Ambazari lake overflowed due to heavy rains last Friday, causing the Nag river to flood and due to this flood, part of the bridge was damaged and collapsed into the river. Since then, traffic on the bridge has been completely closed.
At present, the traffic on the bridge is completely closed, and efforts will be made to open the traffic for light vehicles. the possibility of opening some parts of bridge for traffic will be verified.
