In the ward of Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo), cement blocks are being applied to the two legs under the bed where the patient is lying.
Ward No. 26 of Mayo Hospital belongs to the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. Postpartum women and newborn babies are kept in this ward. On Tuesday, two cement blocks were placed under the two legs of the bed where a patient was sleeping.
Dr. Radha Munde, Medical Superintendent, Mayo Hospital Said that “For some medical reasons, the patient needs to be head down and legs up. We call it ‘head low position’. For this, a Cement Block should be placed under the patient’s bed in this ward. The matter will be investigated”.
