The Maharashtra government has approved a plan to give the Bhonsala Military School (BMS) in Nagpur 21,19 hectares (52,36 acres) of land. The site in Godhani, which is close to its current location, is designated for the construction of a female military training school. Additionally, BMS intends to launch IAS preparatory training sessions in this location with housing options and a senior college.
The decision was taken in a State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The land is being given on a 30-year lease to BMS. Since Bhonsala Military School at Nagpur has earned the status of highly distinguished and renowned institution, the Government decided to allot the additional piece of land to it.
As per reports, BMS is contemplating to start a graduation-level college where students can prepare for civil services examinations. At present, there is no such facility available in Nagpur for students.
