An ambulance that is to be used for medical emergencies was being utilised by group of medical students for garba party in Kolhapur district. The incident took place on Sunday evening when the ambulance with registration number MH-09 FL-6709 was spotted racing near the hockey stadium while heading towards Gokhale College. While on commute, the ambulance was spotted blaring it’s sirens, indicating an emergency. The ambulance passed a four-wheeler and a two-wheeler, signalling them to move, and then proceeded with urgency. Bystanders were stunned when the ambulance overtook other vehicles and collided with a four-wheeler. As a result, worried citizens followed the ambulance. The ambulance ultimately came to a halt near Northstar Hospital, where a curious crowd had gathered.
The situation took an unexpected turn when nearby residents urged the ambulance driver to release the back door. He hesitated at first, but as the crowd’s pressure intensified, he succumbed and opened the door. Inside, a group of young women dressed for a Garba celebration was revealed.They revealed that they were medical students on their way to a joyous Garba celebration. Local authorities were alerted, and Juna Rajwada police responded swiftly, capturing the driver’s identity and giving a warning against future illegal usage of an ambulance.
