The Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Parishad, in its centennial year, has announced state-level One-Act Play contest. President of the Parishad Prashant Damle said that the annual contest under the ‘Natya Jagar’ mission is open for stage artists across the state. The winner will be awarded the ‘Natya Parishad Trophy’.
The preliminary rounds will be held at various regional centres from August 23 and 24. The 25 plays selected via the regional rounds will participate in the final round to be held in Mumbai. A workshop will be held in Mumbai for the artists in the final round. The preliminary rounds will be held in every district where at least ten drama groups register for participation.
PRIZES: Final Round – First – Rs 1,00,000, Second – Rs 75,000, Third – Rs 50,000, and two consolation prizes of Rs 15,000 each.
Individual prizes for script writing, direction, stage decoration, make-up, background music, acting (male and Female) of Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000, and Rs 3,000 will also be awarded.
The participating groups in the preliminary rounds will be given Rs 2,000 each.
