Gondia is once again set to feature on the airmap of the country. IndiGo Airlines has decided to start a daily flight from Gondia to Tirupati via Hyderabad from December 1.
The flight is not under ‘Udega Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme wherein the Central government subsidizes the airlines. IndiGo has decided to start the flight completely on a commercial basis.
Fly Big Airlines had started a flight connecting Indore with Hyderabad and Gondia two years ago. However, it was abruptly suspended last August even though occupancy was around 70% according to the Gondia airport director’s office. The airport has been lying idle. since then.
The IndiGo flight will depart Tirupati at 8.40 am and reach Hyderabad at 9.50 am.
It will leave the Telangana capital at 10.20 am and reach Gondia at 12.35 pm.
The return flight will take off from Gondia at 12.55 pm and reach Hyderabad at 2.55 pm. It will depart Hyderabad at 3.25 pm and reach Tirupati at 4.50 pm.
Initially, the base fare from Gondia to Hyderabad and vice versa and as per IndiGo website will be around 23.000.
