A former Deputy General Manager in MahaMetro Bishwaranjan Beura has made serious allegations of financial irregularities in MahaMetro. He has filed a petition in the High Court.
Beura was working in Maha Metro from 2015 to August 2019. Meanwhile, MahaMetro promoted 14 officials. But, Beura was not promoted due to deduction of Rs 3 crore from the signaling contract bill. Beura lodged 11 complaints with the competent authority regarding this and other irregularities. But, no action was taken regarding this. He alleged in the petition that MahaMetro officials are looting crores of rupees through medical expenses, foreign trips, payment to contractors and job recruitment. There has also been a demand for a thorough investigation into this matter by the CBI.
The petition was heard before Justice Vinay Joshi and Justice Mahendra Chandwani. the court issued notice to the Secretary of Central Housing and Urban Development Department, Director of Central Bureau of Investigation, Central Chief Vigilance Officer, Chairman of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation, Chief Vigilance Officer and Secretary of the State Urban Development Department.
