A person claiming to be a CBI employee has been arrested in Nagpur.The arrested accused has been identified as Sadiq Qureshi. He posed himself as Personal Assistant (PA) to the Deputy Inspector General of CBI’s Nagpur unit and made a false claim and demanded Rs 20 lakh from Sandeep Kumar Verma, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, Central Railway. The accused claimed that there were complaints against him, which he could settle.
CBI said that Sadiq Qureshi was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of CBI while accepting Rs 1 lakh. He has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act. His residence and other premises linked to him have been searched as part of the investigation.
