Seema Nakib Akhtar, a city athlete, has been chosen to compete for India in the 22 Asian Masters Athletic Championship, which will take place from November 8–12 in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, Philippines.
Up to 19 competitors from Maharashtra are part of the Indian contingent, which was announced by David Premnath, Secretary General of the Masters Athletics Federation of India.
Seema will be taking part in the 400m hurdles and 2000m stee-plechase in the women’s 35-39 age group.
ASI Seema Akhtar is serving the Police Department since 16 years. She has won 4km bronze medal in 2008 Federation National Games, Nagpur; 8km Maharashtra team silver in 2013 Federation Nationals at Chapra in Bihar and 3km steeplechase silver medal at All India Police Games at Patna in 2013.
