Cyber thugs defrauded a young man of a total of Rs 14,62,509 by luring him to earn more money on completing the task. After coming to know of the fraud, the victim complained to the police. Police have registered a case on the complaint of Ashish Bhimrao Pavnikar (31), resident of Bhagyashree Nagar, Kharbi Road.
The victim used to work in an IT company. He was unemployed for the last few months. On October 13, an unknown accused sent a message to the victim on Telegram. Offered the lure of earning money on completing the task. Initially, after completing the task, some amount was sent to his account. The victim was taken into confidence and lured with more money. For this he was tricked into depositing some money. The victim transferred lakhs of rupees to the accused from various accounts. The fraud was detected when no benefit or refund of the given amount was received. Police have registered a case against unknown accused and started investigation.
