The spirit of Chhath Puja swept through Nagpur as thousands of families, predominantly from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, embraced the festival’s essence.
Dedicated to Chhathi Maiyaa, the festival witnessed women devotees observing an arduous 36-hour-long nirjala fast, fervently offering prayers amidst deep devotion.
The festivities commenced with Kharna, where homes hosting Chhath fasting individuals organized rituals on Saturday. Following a day-long fast, devotees bathed in water infused with the sanctity of Ganga water, culminating in worship to the Sun God and Mother Goddess.
