Recently, in Busselton, Australia, Dr. Prajakta Aswar became the first woman from Nagpur and Central India to complete the Full Ironman Race in 13 hours and 50 minutes. She completed 180 km of cycling, 42 km of running, and 4 km of swimming in the Indian Ocean back-to-back.
At the Tata Mumbai Marathon, Prajakta completed her first full marathon in 4 hours and 8 minutes. Three months after finishing her first full ironman in Australia’s Busselton in 13 hours and 45 minutes, she qualified for this year’s world championship in Finland and successfully finished it in August 2023. She has also completed half ironman races in Germany and Goa. For the past three years, she has been assiduously preparing for marathons and ironman competitions.
Dr. Prajakta attended Shivaji Science College in Nagpur for her final year of education. completed her MBBS and MD at MGIMS, Sewagram in obstetrics and gynecology. For the past twenty years, she has operated a private practice in Chandrapur, providing obstetrician and infertility services to the local population.
