In light of incidents related to kite-flying during Makar Sankranti, the Maharashtra Police has implemented a ban on the use of nylon manja. Despite the order, some individuals have been observed violating this directive. On Thursday, December 12, the Manakapur Police in the state capital seized nylon manja valued at Rs. 60,000.
The arrested suspects include Kartik Ragote, Ayan Wald Farukh Khan, Ehfaz Wald Harun Khan, Ehtesham Ismail Sheikh, and Imran Wald Iqbal Sheikh. Nylon manja is made from metallic/nylon yarn with a polished coat of crushed glass gummed rendering it razor sharp and non-biodegradable which harms severe injuries to birds, animals, and humans when caught.
According to information received, Manakapur Police received a tip during patrolling that suspicious individuals in a car were carrying nylon manja from Manakapur Chowk. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the police seized 120 spools of nylon manja, amounting to a total of Rs. 60,000. Ayan Wald Farukh Khan clarified during the investigation that the material was procured from Satranjipura. The Manakapur Police is actively conducting further inquiries to uncover additional details surrounding the incident.
