In a concerted effort to ensure passenger safety and maintain the punctuality of train services, the Railway Administration has issued a crucial issue urging citizens to keep their cattle away from railway tracks and premises.
Recent incidents have highlighted the serious consequences of allowing cattle on railway tracks, leading to accidents that not only endanger lives but also disrupt the journeys of countless railway passengers. The Railway Administration is calling on all citizens to refrain from bringing their animals into railway premises to prevent accidents during travel.
Cattle run-overs pose a significant safety hazard, directly impacting the safety and punctuality of train services. In response, the Railway Administration has formulated an action plan to address this issue:
*Formation of a Special Team:* A dedicated team comprising members from engineering, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), and operating departments will be formed to tackle the issue of cattle run-overs.
*Identification of Affected Locations:* The team will systematically identify all locations where cattle run-overs have occurred to implement targeted solutions.
*Awareness Banners:* Prominent banners, sized 3×4 and of significant quantity, will be printed and displayed in villages near railway tracks to raise awareness about the dangers of cattle run-overs.
*Collaboration with District Authorities:* Team members and officers will engage with district magistrates and district collectors to seek their support in spreading awareness about cattle run-overs in the surrounding areas of railway tracks.
*Multilingual Leaflets:* Marathi and Hindi leaflets will be circulated among residents living in proximity to railway tracks. These leaflets will serve to counsel people about the risks associated with cattle run-overs and encourage responsible pet ownership.
*The Railway Administration has clarified that in case of accidents involving animals in the Railway premises and near the Railway tracks, strict action will be taken under Section 154 and other relevant sections.*
The Railway Administration emphasizes the crucial role that citizens play in ensuring the safety and punctuality of train services. By keeping cattle away from railway tracks and premises, individuals can contribute to the overall well-being of passengers and prevent disruptions in the railway network.
