X, formerly known as Twitter, experienced a global outage lasting over an hour. According to Downdetector’s status tracker, the disruption started around 10:37 a.m. IST, with 1,200 users reporting issues within the first 20 minutes. At its peak, approximately 65,000 users couldn’t access X, though the website and app loaded normally—tweets were simply not visible. As per the media report, as of now, the problem seems resolved. Downdetector’s live outage map revealed widespread issues across all X platforms, from mobile to PC, predominantly reported in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, and Nagpur.
Twitter had a global outage affecting users in various countries, including Argentina, Australia, Canada, the US, and the UK. Since Musk took over last October, the platform has experienced frequent outages, usually resolved within hours. In September, there were multiple outages within 24 hours, with the company rarely disclosing the cause. Despite a quirky official response, X plans to introduce video to Spaces, the live audio feature, with a definite launch by the end of this year or early next year.
Musk said that in Spaces sessions featuring multiple speakers, the video feed will smoothly switch to the person currently speaking, resembling the functionality seen in Google Meet and other video conferencing platforms. This transition in the video feed will occur during discussions with multiple speakers, similar to the operation on platforms like Google Meet.
