Asia’s biggest historical drama, ‘Jaanata Raja,’ portraying the exciting events from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, is set to captivate Nagpur from January 13 to January 15 at Yeshwant Stadium. Jointly organized by the Cultural Affairs Department of the Maharashtra Government, the district, and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), the mega-drama’s shows are part of a series across the state, suggested by Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Nagpur district. The initiative commemorates the 350th year of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation.
Directed by the late historian ‘Shivshahir’ ‘Padma Vibhushan’ Babasaheb Purandare, the drama unfolds on a revolving stage at Yeshwant Stadium, expected to draw over 30,000 spectators. Though the entry will be free, there will be passes for the shows. The show will start at 5.30 pm every day from January 13 to January 15. More than 200 artists will depict vividly the events from the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The show will feature camels and horses too.
