Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers courses in several fields, as per needs of various sections of the Society. For January 2024 Admission Session, 33 – Bachelor Degree, 69 – Masters Degree, 65- PG Diploma, 27 – Diploma, 14-PG Certificates, 79 – Certificates (287 programmes) are on offer through Open and Distance Learning mode and 45 Programmes are offered through Online mode. IGNOU also provide Fee Exemption for SC/ST students in BAG and BCOMG and BSCG program for January 2024 Admission Session.Some of the newly launched programmes are as follows:
Bachelor of Science (Applied Science – Energy) (BSCAEY):
This Program provides in-depth knowledge of all major energy sources along with the conversion process and their applications and gives the opportunity to specialize in various areas along with adequate knowledge and skills in the area of Statistics and Mathematics. Eligibility is 10+2 (With Mathematics and Physics).
Master of Science (Zoology) (MSCZOO)
Special Features of MSc Zoology Programme:
1. MSc Zoology is being offered with specialization in Entomology.
2. After completing the first year of M.Sc. Zoology programme, students will be awarded a PG Diploma in Applied Zoology and Biotechnology.
3. Students have to do Project work on any one topic of prescribed courses of the programme. This will give them exposure to research and collaboration
Eligibility is B.Sc. (Hons.)/B.Sc. (Major) in Zoology OR B.Sc. (General/CBCS) with Zoology as one of the subjects.
Master of Science (Biochemistry) (MSCBCH):
this Master of Science in Biochemistry programme is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge in Biochemistry while giving the learner an opportunity to explore subjects beyond the discipline.
Eligibility is Bachelor‘s degree in Science/ Pharmacy/ B.Tech Biotech/Agriculture/Veterinary/Nursing/Medical Laboratory Technology/ Medical graduates with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects at 10+2 level.
Master of Science (Analytical Chemistry) (MSCANCHEM):
This programme provides a strong foundation of fundamental concepts of chemistry. It also deals with the basic principles and applications of various analytical techniques such as separation methods including chromatographic techniques, spectroscopic methods, electroanalytical methods and other methods of analysis.
Eligibility is Graduates with B.Sc. (Major/Honours) Degree in Chemistry from a recognised university, Graduates with a B.Sc. Degree (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Chemistry as one of three science subjects with equal weightage, Graduates with a B.Sc. Degree from an Open University with a minimum of 20 Credits of Chemistry courses.
Master of Science (Chemistry) (MSCCHEM):
The MSc (Chemistry) programme is designed and developed by experts spread across the country and is pitched at a level at par with any central University. It provides a strong foundation of fundamental and advanced aspects of chemistry and their applications in industry and research. Eligibility is • Graduates with B.Sc. (Major/Honours) Degree in Chemistry from a recognised university. • Graduates with a B.Sc. Degree (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Chemistry as one of three science subjects with equal weightage • Graduates with a B.Sc. Degree from an Open University with a minimum of 20 Credits of Chemistry course.

Re-registration January 2024:
IGNOU students who joined for semester wise programmes (like MBA, MCA, BCA etc.) and more than 1 year (Semester based Program) and more than 1 year programmes like Under Graduation and Post Graduation have to re-register for their further studies for the January 2024 session. The link is https://onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/ . Irrespective of whether they completed their previous year or semester exams, they can re-register for their further year/semester online, before 29th January 2024.
