According to Nitin Gadkari, soon people might travel to the airport in drones that can carry four individuals. He mentioned his efforts to create bio-aviation fuel at his sugar factory and expressed confidence in its upcoming production. Additionally, initiatives are underway to produce bio aviation fuel from broken rice, potentially benefiting paddy growers. He was speaking at a function to inaugurate the aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) depot of AAR-Indamer at Mihan-SEZ on Friday.
Gadkari also highlighted the growth of the aircraft maintenance sector, suggesting that drone maintenance could become a significant industry. He emphasized the mandatory blending of bio aviation fuel by 2026 and shared information about efforts to make it from ethanol, including a collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation. Lastly, he reiterated plans for Rafale fighter jets to be manufactured in Nagpur by Dassault Reliance Aviation Limited.
