Good connectivity by road is the base for all inclusive development of the nation. It helps in inviting industry, generate employment and reduce poverty, said Union Minister for Surface Development Nitin Gadkari.
Gadkari was speaking during ‘Leaders connect with Global Maharashtrian diaspora’ programme organised by Bharatiya Janata Party’s Foreign Affairs wing. Gadkari said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of making Bharat a five trillion economy will be fulfilled. The steps towards all-inclusive development have been taken. The work is in progress with the poor women, youth and farmers at the top on the priority list. Proving basic amenities in this direction is essential. Therefore in the union budget Rs 11.11 lakh crores have been earmarked for the purpose.. The Non-resident Indians can contribute by investing in the development of national highwas and other basic amenities, Gadkari said.

About 200 NRIs from more than 35 countries including those from America, England, Japan, Australia, UAE, Fermany, France, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Philippines, Denmark. Kenya, South Africa attended the programme.
