The state government has released a fund of Rs 204 crore to compensate the damage caused by the flood in Nagpur in the month of September.
The funds have been sanctioned for the re-construction of damaged security walls of river drains and for the repair of roads. Administrative approval has been given to a fund of Rs 162.31 crore for the construction of 8.41 kilometer security wall and Rs 41.48 crore for the construction of 61.38 kilometer road.
In order to get compensation for the losses incurred in Nagpur, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari had instructed the officers under his command to prepare a detailed report. After which the proposal was sent to the State Government through the PWD.
NMC has already received a fund of Rs 8 crore from the state government as compensation for the loss. Based on the parameters of the State Disaster Response Fund, the State Government has approved the distribution of a fund of Rs 838.54 crore as compensation for the damage caused by the flood that hit Nagpur on September 22.
