Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming meeting at Bhari near Yavatmal on February 28 has hit a snag as three pillars collapsed during the construction of the pandal, injuring four laborers on Sunday morning. The injured were promptly transported to the Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Despite the setback, preparations for the event continue as work resumes after a temporary halt.
Scheduled to address a gathering of women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at Bhari village on the Yavatmal-Nagpur road, Modi aims to accommodate over one lakh SHG representatives. This marks Modi’s fourth visit to Yavatmal, with previous visits in 2004 as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and in 2014 before the Lok Sabha elections. He also visited Pandharkawada for a women’s SHGs’ meet ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Efforts are underway to ensure the success of the event despite the setback, emphasizing the significance of engaging with women’s SHGs in the region.
