Students at Prestigious National Law University near Borkhedi are said to be experiencing challenges due to the inadequate quality of the mess food.
Videos depicting hair found in ‘rotis’ (flatbread) and worms in lentils have circulated widely, casting doubt on the standard of food served in the college mess.
Students have complained about falling ill and resorting to purchasing food from outside due to the unhygienic meals served in the mess. Additionally, they have made allegations of a cockroach infestation within the mess premises.
“We have even been served cooked cockroaches,” they claimed. The premises is home to several cats, some of which have been observed licking dishes clean in the mess area. The college is located approximately 16 to 17 kilometers away from the city, and hence it is not possible for students to visit some other place to have their meals.
The parents and students have demanded that the authorities look into the matter and take appropriate steps to resolve the issue. Students have alleged that they have to shell out a substantial amount while taking admission in the National Law University towards hostel and mess facilities.
When contacted, vice-chancellor of National Law University Prof Vijendar Kumar said, “The registrar and deputy registrar have been asked to investigate whether the concerned photos and videos are from the mess of National Law University. If this is true, action will definitely be taken against the concerned.”
