Despite digital payment methods becoming the standard and automation rapidly expanding across the country, Maha Metro Nagpur has blended the two principles to provide a seamless metro ride. Nagpur Metro has placed Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) at practically all of its metro stations. This TVM allows commuters to acquire QR-based paper tickets by paying with UPI.
TVM is an automated machine designed to give commuters a faster way to purchase tickets. The placement of machines has received a positive response from commuters. Overall, incorporating UPI as a digital payment option in ticket vending machines encourages a modern, efficient, and customer-friendly approach to ticket sales, in line with the global shift towards digital financial services.
