Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur organised its second edition of the Inter-School Swimming Competition, ‘Poolympics 2.0’ on March 16, 2024, in its state-of-the-art natatorium.
The event was an exciting day of competition, sportsmanship, and fun. Over 250 swimmers participated from 83 different schools in the Under 10, Under 12, and Under 14 boys and girls categories for 50-mtr and 100-mtr Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke and Butterfly events.
Ms. Tulika Kedia, President and Pro-Vice Chairperson, Delhi Public School Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur, who does not leave any stone unturned to provide the school with world-class infrastructure and facilities, was the source of inspiration behind the tournament.
It was a great matter of pride that Arjuna Awardee Mr. Virdhawal Khade consented to grace the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest for the event and brought a wealth of experience to share with the young and upcoming swimmers. It was also an honour to have the young and distinguished National Level Swimmer, Ms. Rishika Bodele as the Guest of Honour.
The event was also graced by Ms. Savita Jaiswal, Director of DPS Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur, Shri Indrajeet Parganiha, Bursar, Delhi Public School Kamptee Road and MIHAN, Nagpur and Ms. Nidhi Yadav, Principal of Delhi Public School MIHAN, Nagpur. Ms. Yogeeta Umalkar, Principal welcomed the gathering and encouraged the enthusiastic swimmers to give their best performance.
The occasion provided a fantastic platform for young swimmers to demonstrate their abilities and sportsmanship. The competition was intense, motivating the swimmers to give their all in pursuit of victory. The ambiance was charged with excitement, resonating with cheers and applause from the spectators as the swimmers sprinted towards the end.
The panel of judges was left in awe of the level of talent and dedication displayed by the swimmers, and they were honoured to have been a part of such an exciting and competitive event. The competition served as a reminder of the incredible athleticism and determination of these young athletes, and left the judges looking forward to future competitions where they could witness even more impressive displays of swimming prowess.
The prize distribution ceremony was a fitting end to the event, celebrating the talent, dedication, and hard work of all those involved. It was a moment of joy and celebration, a time to honour the winners and thank all the participants for their contributions.
