Rupees seven lakh were extorted by a woman and her accomplices from a teacher after he fell into their honeytrap.
The victim, a 40-year-old teacher, fell prey to the fraud by accused woman Parveen, who initially approached the teacher under the guise of seeking financial assistance. Parveen’s attempts to establish proximity with the teacher escalated when she needed a loan from a bank and coincidentally crossed paths with the teacher on multiple occasions, said police.
Parveen developed a relationship with the teacher and even extended her influence to his wife by fabricating the need for urgent financial aid under the pretext of medical expenses. Parveen lured the teacher to a location in Teka Naka, where she secretly captured compromising images and videos with him and used them as leverage for extortion.
With threats of exposing the obscene pictures, Parveen forced the teacher to give her Rs 7 lakh over the time. She also fabricated false marriage documents and initiated legal proceedings for alimony from the teacher.
Fed up with the harassment, the teacher finally lodged a complaint with Old Kamptee Police. The police launched an investigation into the matter. A case under Sections 120 (b), 385,379, 420, 467, 468, 471,472 and 506 of the IPC.
