Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Inter College Youth Festival ‘Yuvarang’ began on Tuesday at Gurunanak Bhawan on Ambazari Road. Yuvarang is a platform for students to showcase their talents in various fields like music, dance, drama, literature and fine arts.
Addressing the event, pro-chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University Dr Sanjay Dudhe said that there is a need to cultivate traditional folk art in our society.
During the 4-day fest, students will showcase their talent in competitions like accessible music, classical music, group song competition, classical rhythm, string instrument competition, debate competition, quiz, western solo, western instrumental solo, painting, poster, clay modeling, cari- cature, collage, rangoli and skit (miniature). Other competitions include silent drama, mimicry, classical dance, lavani, folk dance, etc.
Opening the inaugural ceremony, director of the student development department Dr Mangesh Pathak mentioned that 1,200 students from more than 100 colleges participated in Yuvarang Mahotsav.
