With just one week remaining until the Holi festival, the influx of passengers on trains and private buses is intensifying. Long waiting lists are evident on trains bound for Delhi and Mumbai.
As the holiday draws near, many individuals embark on journeys to their hometowns or cities to partake in the festivities with loved ones. In response, the railway administration has scheduled the operation of 112 trains, with Central Railway additionally announcing the deployment of 12 special trains. Despite these efforts to accommodate the surge in travelers, securing reservations on trains has become challenging. General compartments on trains heading towards Delhi are also witnessing significant crowds.
Passengers are struggling to obtain tickets for sleeper and third AC classes on the 12721 Dakshin Express, as well as sleeper tickets for the 12615 GT Express. Reservation counters have ceased issuing tickets for sleeper class and second AC on the 12621 Tamil Nadu Express, while bookings for all classes are full on the 2269 Rajdhani Express and the Telangana Express.
Reports indicate a heavy influx of passengers on the 12140 Sewagram Express bound for Mumbai.
