With Lok Sabha election campaigns underway in the city, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation anticipates increased revenue through fees for campaign-related services. Candidates will be charged for the use of grounds, erection of pandals and banners, and other facilities.
The corporation has implemented a policy of charging candidates for the erection of welcome gates/arches, pandals, booths, and so on.
During the election season, the city hosts a lot of corner meetings to campaign, which generates revenue. It will charge Rs 200 for providing ground, Rs 5 per sq ft of banner and welcome gate up to Rs 200 sq ft, Rs 250 for a welcome arch 20 ft wide with 3*3 pillars, Rs 500 for larger arches, and Rs 86 per sq ft for cutouts and banners, among other things.
