The Right to Education Act (RTE) has rolled out its admission process for the academic year 2024-2025, aiming to provide quality education to the economically as well as socially weaker sections of society. Starting on April 16, the initiative reserves 25% of school seats under the Act. The Directorate of Primary Education issued directives on Monday, setting April 30 as the last day for online applications. Nagpur district anticipates enrolling approximately 22 thousand students through this program.
Students covered under the RTE Act are eligible for admission to schools for the upcoming academic year. The education department had set a registration deadline until March 27 . As a result, 2,619 schools were successfully registered in Nagpur district. The Directorate of Primary Education issued a circular regarding RTE admission, paving the way for the online admission process from April 16 to 30, aligning with the provisions of the RTE Act.
With the RTE admission process delayed, parents have voiced growing concerns in recent days. The delay has heightened anxiety among families awaiting admission for their children under this important initiative.
For admission to Class I, a specific age limit has been set. Children must be a minimum of 6 years old as of December 31st, 2024. Additionally, the maximum age permitted is 7 years, 5 months, and 30 days, as clarified by authorities.
