Nagpur commuters can expect a temporary decrease in Aapli Bus services from April 18, possibly resuming partially by April 20, as the Nagpur Municipal Corporation will rent out around 400 buses for election-related work across the city. Longer routes such as Kamptee to Butibori, Pardi to Hingna, and Wadi may continue Aapli bus operations during this time. Additionally, the district election office has reserved 358 buses to facilitate the transportation of polling personnel throughout the election period.
The district election office has also asked the NMC to have extra buses on standby for smooth transportation of EVMs and polling staff.
A senior official from NMC’s transport department stated that approximately 358 buses will be needed to transport staff and security personnel to polling stations in each constituency on both days. Additionally, NMC will maintain around 45 Aapli buses on standby to address emergencies, such as breakdowns of buses engaged in poll duties.
