In a shocking incident aboard an ST bus, a conductor was viciously attacked with a knife, resulting in severe injuries. The incident occurred on the Nagpur-Kondhali route, near Ringanabodi village, around 10:30 AM on Friday morning.
Trouble arose when Firoz, claiming to have booked an online ticket, engaged in a heated argument with Kale. Despite Kale’s request to produce the online ticket, the situation escalated, leading to a violent confrontation.
The victim, identified as Yogesh Namdev Kale, was carrying out his duties when the accused, Firoz Shekhnoor Shekh, allegedly attacked him. According to eyewitnesses, the bus was en route from Nagpur to Sambhaji Nagar, with Kale conducting ticket checks.
In the fight, Firoz pulled out a knife and hurt Kale badly. Alert passengers stopped Firoz to avoid more injuries.
Prompt action was taken, with passenger Vinod Ingole swiftly informing authorities at the police control room. The bus driver, Santosh Jadhav, diverted the vehicle to the Kondhali police station, where officers took Firoz into custody.
Kale was promptly rushed to the primary health center in Kondhali for medical treatment. Following initial treatment, he was transferred for further care.
In response to the incident, Kondhali police have registered a case against the accused, Firoz, and are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
