Catering inspectors along with IRCTC representatives are responsible for curbing them. However, due to their neglect, On Friday, a team of IRCTC representatives and catering inspectors launched an inspection on the Maharashtra Express from Badnera following the outcry over the recent increase in such incidents. 8 people selling food in different containers were caught by them. They tried to mislead the inspection officials by saying that we are authorized food vendors associated with R&K Associates. When their documents were checked, it was revealed that none of them had original passenger authority or IRCTC issued identity card. After thorough questioning, the investigating team arrested them as soon as it became clear that they were unauthorized sellers. A case was registered against them under Railway Act.
