The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Central Railway Nagpur has successfully intercepted and seized a significant quantity of English liquor valued at Rs 88,500 on the Humsafar Express train.
On the 4th of May, 2024, the RPF Central Railway Nagpur received crucial information regarding the smuggling of English liquor on board train number 22706 Tirupati Humsafar Express. Acting swiftly on this, under the guidance of the Inspector Crime Intelligence Branch, a joint operation was conducted involving the Crime Intelligence Branch, Sub Inspector of RPF, Narcotics Team, and the adept canine, Prince of the Dog Squad Nagpur.
During the thorough inspection of the train, three suspicious bags, including two trolley bags and one sack bag, were discovered under coach number B/4, with seats numbered 52, and B/14, with seats numbered 15 and 45. Upon questioning the passengers occupying the respective seats, it was revealed that the bags belonged to them.
Upon further inspection, a total of 38 bottles of English liquor, with an estimated value of Rs 88,500, were found concealed within the bags.
Subsequently, the three individuals associated with the possession of the contraband were apprehended and handed over to the State Excise Nagpur, along with the seized goods, for further legal action.
