Six persons died and more than 20 workers were injured in a boiler blast in Dombiwali MIDC in Mumbai. The blast occurred on Thursday at noon and was heard several kilometers away.
According to local people, the blast occurred in Ambar Chemicals in Phase II of Dombiwali MIDC. A fire broke out following the blast. The blast was powerful and also had an impact on the buildings in the area.
Firefighters immediately rushed to the spot. Six fire tenders were trying to control the fire. They are facing difficulties as small blasts could be heard in the chemical company. The company is located near a residential area. Glass panes of buildings in about a two-kilometer radius were shattered in the blast.
Thick smoke could be seen from a long distance. The firefighters are using methods to control fire in a chemical factory.
