Yellow Alert issued
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for Nagpur and some parts of the Vidarbha region. Heavy rains and thundershowers are likely to hit Nagpur within 24 hours, IMD said on Friday.
Besides Nagpur, the Yellow Alert has been issued for Wardha, Gondia, Washim, Yavatmal, Amravati, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli in Vidarbha region, and Sindhudurg, Kolhapur and Satara districts.
The Vidarbha region has been experiencing unseasonal rains, even when day temperatures are soaring.
IMD has advised the residents in these areas to stay indoors during heavy rains. The outdoor objects that could be blown away due to strong wind, should be protected.
