Polls due for four seats
The new date of elections for four candidates for the Maharashtra Legislative Council has been announced. The elections were scheduled to be held on June 10 and the counting of votes on June 13. The polling now will be held on June 26.
Two seats representing registered graduates from Mumbai and Konkan and two representatives of teachers from Mumbai and Nasik are falling vacant on July 7.
A request to hold the elections after the summer vacations was made, and was accepted by the Election Commission. The Election Commission has announced the new date for polling.
The terms of Vilas Potnis (UBT), Mumbai Graduates; Niranjan Davkhare (BJP) fro Konkan Graduates Constituency; Teachers representatives from Mumbai Kapil Patil and Kishor Darade from Nashik are ending on July 7.
