Dr. Sejal Chandak Khandelwal hosted a free dermatology camp Today at her Nikalas Clinic on Central Bazaar Road, Ramdaspeth. The camp, held from 2pm to 6pm, welcomed patients with various skin, hair, and nail complaints. The initiative aimed to assist the non-affording class and raise awareness about protecting skin from the extreme summer sun.
Despite the camp’s brief duration, approximately 50 patients benefited from the camp, with over 60% hailing from lower economic backgrounds, including areas from Vidarbha and neighboring districts of Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Sejal dedicated ample time to one-on-one consultations, addressing patient queries, and prescribing necessary treatments. She also provided extensive counseling on the proper use of sunscreens, emphasizing the importance of sufficient SPF and PA ratings, correct application methods, and frequency. Additionally, she debunked common sunscreen myths and highlighted recent studies about the potential carcinogenic effects of Benzene in some widely used sunscreens.
The camp’s success was evident in the satisfied expressions of the patients. Dr. Sejal expressed her contentment with the camp’s outcome and reaffirmed her commitment to organizing more such initiatives for noble causes in the future.
