Nagpur Municipal Corporation has offered 15 per cent rebate on property tax, if paid before June 30 in online mode. Those paying the tax offline will get a rebate of 10 per cent. The offer is valid for tax for the year 2024-25.
The offer is valid from April 1, informs Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Revenue) Milind Meshram. So far the NMC has been able to collect Rs 30.74 crores from the property owners. Laxmi Nagar Zone is leading in tax collection with Rs 5.5 crores. The zone-wise collections are Hanuman Nagar Zone – Rs 4.09 crores, Mangalwari – Rs 4.13, Nehru Nagar – Rs 3.56 crores, Dharampeth – Rs 3.10 crores, Ashi Nagar – Rs 2.92 crores, Lakadganj – Rs 2.72 crores, Dhantoli – Rs 2.51 crores, Gandhibag – Rs 1.21 crores and Satranjipura – Rs 94 lakhs.
Last year under a similar scheme NMC collected a property tax of Rs 42.66 crores. Meshram had appealed to the property owners to derive maximum benefit from the scheme. So far 25,317 property owners paid the tax online and took the benefit of Rs 1.56 crore rebate. Those who paid offline saved Rs 1.26 crores and their number if 48,846.
