The excitement of snooker enthusiasts in Nagpur is palpable as the city prepares to host the qualifier leg of the Q Club’s Leadsuper All India Open Snooker Championships. Scheduled to take place from July 19 to 28, the qualifier leg will be conducted under the auspices of the Billiards and Snooker Association of Nagpur at Shabbi’s Q Sports, near Gandhi Square, Sadar.
Participants are in for a treat as each contender will receive a cue case cover courtesy of Leadsuper. Matches during the qualifier will be fiercely contested, played in the best-of-five frames format. Qualifiers for the main event stand to pocket a handsome sum of Rs 5000 each.
With an entry fee of Rs 1500, eager participants have until July 11 to register for the Leg 1 qualifier, marking the final date for entries.
Nagpur’s snooker talent will have the opportunity to shine, as four qualifiers from the city will advance to the main event held at The Q Club in Goa. Scheduled to kick off from September 6, the main event promises intense competition, culminating in the grand finale on September 15 at the same venue.
The stakes are high, with the winner of the main event set to claim a substantial prize of Rs 1 lakh, while the runner-up will walk away with Rs 50,000.
Moreover, participants who reach the semi-finals will each be awarded Rs 25,000, while quarter-finalists will receive Rs 12,500 each, and pre-quarter-finalists will be granted Rs 5,000 each.
