On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, IIM Nagpur, under the aegis of its Armed Forces Business Management Programme, organized a car rally from MIHAN, a prominent location in Nagpur, to the Institute’s satellite campus in Pune.
The rally, which saw participation from a dozen vehicles, including faculty, students, and staff members, was a symbolic representation of the journey of blood from donors to recipients. It aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation.
Dr. Bhimraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, ceremoniously flagged off the rally on June 14, 2024, to mark World Blood Donor Day. “It is in continuation to the Institute’s commitment to community health & service awareness drive,” said Dr. Metri. “IIM Nagpur proactively promotes health & well-being within & beyond the academic community,” he further expressed.
This rally re-imposed the faith to continue the commitment of the Institute’s vision towards giving & community support. Earlier on June 7, IIM Nagpur had organized a highly successful blood donation drive, where a significant amount of blood was collected from the donors. The event had not just garnered a response but an overwhelming one, with volunteers stepping forward in large numbers to donate blood.
This substantial contribution, which can potentially save many lives, reflects the Institute’s remarkable initiatives and its commitment to community health and service awareness.
The students of the Certificate Programme in Business Management for Armed Forces from the outgoing batch, Cdr. Sandeep Kumar Tomar and Dr. (Lt. Col.) Sameer Parwate, took the initiative for the car rally, along with other members. The car rally, held in the spirit of this successful drive, reignited that spirit to mark World Blood Donor Day with IIM Nagpur’s commitment to service to humanity.
