As many as 40 airports in India have received bomb threat mails across the country, including Mumbai, Jaipur and Patna airports, as per sources.
as per sources to TV9 Network, among other cities the treat mail was also received in Jaipur to blow up the airport. The security was tightened soon after receiving the mail, after which search operations were conducted at the airport.
However, as per airport officials, some mischievous element sent the threatening mail. The look out is on through IP address for the person who is believed to have sent the mail. “The airport was thoroughly checked but nothing suspicious has been found so far,” the police said. Security arrangements have also been tightened in Mumbai, Patna airport been tightened in Mumbai, Patna airport, among others receiving several mails.
Earlier in the day, the departure of a Dubai- bound flight carrying 286 passengers onboard from Chennai International Airport was delayed due to a a hoax bomb threat, police said. The security agencies had conducted a thorough check of the international flight after receiving a bomb threat on the aircraft. The flight was scheduled to depart at departure at 10.30 am in the morning.
