Devashree Sudhir Nimbhorkar, a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vayusena Nagar, has achieved distinction for the city by successfully passing the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT- 01/2024) in the Administration and Logistics branch. A Law Graduate, Devashree is set to commence training at the esteemed Air Force Academy (AFA) on July 1.
“It was like a dream come true for me. I cleared this exam on my fourth attempt and I want to thank my parents and my mentor Flt Lt (Retd) Shivalee Deshpande of Prahar Samaj Jagruti Sanstha,” said Devashree.
“My father Gp Capt (Retd) Sudhir Nimbhorkar is my role model and from the beginning I dreamed of being like him and serving the country,” said Devashree.
Devashree, who is a native of Wadala village of Wardha district, will serve the armed forces in the administration branch after completion of her training in AFA.
“Our village is known for freedom fighters and soldiers. Though our village has a population of 800, it has given seven freedom fighters and many soldiers till date and my father and uncle are also among them,” she added.
Devashree, who represented her school in Lawn Tennis Nationals conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, is good in sports and extracurricular activities.
