In order to ensure that no voter is deprived of voting in the wake of the upcoming assembly elections, the Election Commission of India has announced a brief revision program of the voter list. By registering new voters in large numbers, Sample No. 6 is determined to be collected. Also, in Nagpur district, under the program of brief revision of voter list based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, voters whose names are not found in the voter list will be registered on March 27.
Under the said Brief Revision Program, the Polling Station Level Officer (BLO) will conduct door-to-door inspection of the voter list from 25th June to 24th July. Eligible voters who have attained the age of 18 years will fill up Sample No. 6. Dead voters, double voters, and voters who are not found at their address will be removed from the voter list, and errors will be rectified.
According to the assembly elections, the polling station has to be streamlined and as per the requirements under this, the name of the polling station can be changed, the location can be changed, the address can be changed. The consolidated electoral roll will be published on July 25 with all the above amendments. Claims and objections can be submitted on the published voter list from July 25 to August 9. A special camp will be organized on Saturday and Sunday during this period. The date of this camp will be fixed by the Chief Electoral Officer. On the day of the special camp, the polling station level officers should attend their nearest polling station with all the materials during office hours Sample no. 6. 7 and 8 will accept. The final voter list will be published on August 20 after taking a decision on all the applications received till August 19 and settling the claims and objections.
