15% discount on online payment till June 30
In the last two and a half months, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) property tax department has earned Rs 49.50 crore in property taxes. Additionally, property owners can enjoy a 15% discount on online tax payments made by June 30, while those opting for offline payments will receive a 10% discount. As of June 20, taxes have been collected across different zones, with the Laxmi Nagar zone benefiting the most from this discount offer.
Milind Meshram, Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) of the NMC, revealed that between April 1 and June 20, a sum of 49.50 crore rupees in taxes was paid by a total of 1,10,000 property holders. Among them, 40,396 property holders utilized the online facility, securing a 15% discount totaling Rs 2.45 crore.
Under the Laxmi Nagar zone, citizens contributed the highest amount of 28.48 crore towards property tax deposits. Similarly, Dharampeth zone contributed 24.97 crore, Hanuman Nagar Rs 5.95 crore, Dhantoli Rs 3.28 crore, Nehrunagar Rs 5.35 crore, Gandhibagh 2 crore, Satranjipura Rs 1.39 crore, Lakadganj Rs 4.09 crore, Asi Nagar Rs 3.98 crore, and Mangalwari Rs 6.08 crore. Government properties also saw de- posits amounting to Rs 3.90 crore.
Meshram has urged citizens to take advantage of the discount scheme in greater numbers.
