The Live Nagpur, a prominent news portal of Nagpur has been selected for the Devarshi Narad Award by the Vishva Samwad Kendra, Vidarbha region. The Founder Editor of The Live Nagpur Mr Himanshu Pandit will be honoured with the award at a felicitation ceremony at Chitnavis Centre on 29th June.
The annual award is given for distinguished contributions in the field of journalism. Devarshi Narad is considered to be the first ancient journalist.
Established in 2018 The Live Nagpur rose to popularity because of unbiased news and reports on various social issues. The portal gets hits and likes of more than 20,000 and is present on Facebook, Twitter (Now ‘X’), and Instagram, besides the regular website. The portal can be downloaded on Android App with over 10,000 subscribers. According to Google Analytics, the portal has received more than 55 million likes and has about 8 lakh readers worldwide. It has the honours of entering the list of top 100 English news portals in India twice during this short time.
The award function will be held at the Memusa Hall of Chitnavis Centre, Civil Lines at 5.30 pm on June 29, President of Vishva Samwad Kendra and senior journalist Sudhir Pathak announced at a press conference on Friday.
The other winners of the award are Print Media – Mandar Morone of Maharashtra Times; Electronic Media – Snehal Joshi of Sudarshan TV; Social Media Influencer – Manali Khandelwal of Mind Your Logic; Photo/Video journalist – Anant Muley of Tarun Bharat; Jagaran Patrikla – Mulanche Masik Editor Jayant Modak; Citizen Journalists – Umashankar Shrivastav and Dr Harshawardhan Kamble.
Brajesh Manas, Charudatt Kahu, Vinod Deshmukh were present at the press conference.
