The helicopter carrying Maharashtra Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar encountered severe weather, veering off course during its flight from Nagpur to Gadchiroli. Despite the challenging conditions, the pilot skillfully managed to land the helicopter safely, averting a major accident. Onboard the helicopter were Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar, Minister Uday Samant, and Parth Pawar.
Reflecting on the harrowing experience, Ajit Pawar recounted, ‘’Thanks to Lord Panduranga’s grace, we landed safely.” He elaborated further, describing the tense moments during the flight. “When we took off from Nagpur, the weather was fine. But as we approached Gadchiroli, the helicopter entered dense clouds. I felt uneasy and looked around; everyone seemed scared. However, Devendra Fadnavis remained calm and chatted throughout the journey. I urged him to look outside, but we couldn’t see any trees or even the ground—just clouds.
Fadnavis reassured me, saying, ‘Don’t worry. I’ve had six accidents before, and nothing ever happened to me. Nothing will happen to you either.’ It was Ashadhi Ekadashi, so I kept praying to Panduranga. Despite my fears, Fadnavis continued to advise me to stay calm, and just as he said, we landed safely. Ajit Pawar also mentioned that the blessings of their ancestors played a crucial role in their safe landing.
On Wednesday, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar visited Gadchiroli to lay the foundation stone for several development projects. They travelled by helicopter from Nagpur to Gadchiroli to attend various programs.
