Continuous heavy rains over the past two days have led to the collapse of a footpath in Subhash Nagar, Pardi area, creating a 20 to 24 feet wide hole on the street on Monday. A similar incident occurred during the previous rainy season, yet no corrective measures were taken by the administration this year.
Upon learning of the incident, a team from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) promptly arrived at the scene. They have initiated preventive measures, including erecting barricades to ensure public safety.
Nagpur has been battered by heavy rainfall over the last few days. Following an Orange Alert on Sunday, July 21, a Yellow Alert was issued for the city on Monday, July 22. As a precaution, Nagpur District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar has announced a holiday for Anganwadi centers, all schools, colleges, and coaching classes in the district.
