Mr Vishal Agrawal, President – VIA
We welcome the Government initiative for employment and skill development, specially the scheme for job creation in manufacturing where the government is giving incentive to both employers and employees for EPFO contribution for the first four years. It’s a very welcome move.
3 Lakh Crores for empowering women in jobs is a very welcome move because Indian women participation in jobs is very low, this will help Indian women to be more participative in jobs. Inclusion of internship opportunities through CSR Fund is appreciable.
Mr Prashant Mohota, Hon. Secretary – VIA
The financial prudence of Fiscal deficit to 4.9% this year & upto 4.5% next year of overall GDP is very appreciative. This is inspite of a huge sum of money being spent on Infrastructure. Governments focus on skilling and employment by giving incentives under various schemes will make sure that more formalization of jobs will take place. As per me, the Government’s plan to carry out economic reforms in all factors of production is the highlight of the budget.
Ms Rashmi Kulkarni, Chairperson – VIALEW
“VIALEW (Via lady Entrepreneurs’ Wing) applauds the Union Budget 2024-25 for its progressive measures that will significantly benefit startups, micro industries, and women entrepreneurs.
We welcome the removal of the angel tax, a major booster for startups. The increase in the MUDRA loan limit from ₹10 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs will provide much-needed capital for micro industries to grow and thrive.
The allocation of ₹3 lakh crore towards schemes benefiting women and girls is a landmark move, which will boost the critical role women play in economic development. The reduction in stamp duty for land purchased in women’s names is another significant step towards empowering women. We are eagerly waiting for the details of the schemes for women.
Dr Anita Rao, former Jt Secretary – VIA
Apparently, Modi 3.0 has come up with a mature budget. The nine priority areas envision India’s growth trajectory. It is a ‘Balle-Balle’ budget for women and youth. Women-specific skilling policy will go a long way in more women joining the workforce along with the other facilities. Women purchasing property will be charged lower stamp duty is a good move on the part of the government. Now VIA LEW looks forward to setting up of an exclusive women’s Industrial Park. Start-up’s long-standing demand for the abolition of the Angel Tax has finally come true. Credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs without collateral will boost the MSME sector. Sensex is sulking a bit because of the increase in short and long-term capital gain tax, but Indian women are happy as Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman has made jewelry cheaper!
CA Sachin Jajodia, Convener of VIA Taxation & Corporate Law Forum
Hon’ble FM has presented a good budget with a futuristic approach where there is something for everyone, be it in the area of employment generation, skill development, or rationalisation of income tax for small taxpayers, angel investors, or support for small entrepreneurs in form of increase in Mudra loan limit and not the least the budget contains policies for satisfying political allies.
