In the latest Union Budget, Maharashtra has been allocated substantial funds for various developmental projects. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis detailed the allocations, emphasizing the state’s focus on irrigation, infrastructure, sustainable agriculture, and urban development. Nagpur received funds for Nag River and Metro project.
Major Allocations Include:
- ₹600 crore for irrigation projects in Vidarbha and Marathwada
- ₹400 crore for rural road improvements across Maharashtra
- ₹466 crore for the development of an economic corridor
- ₹598 crore for environment-friendly, sustainable agriculture projects
- ₹150 crore for the Maharashtra Agriculture and Rural Transformation Project
- ₹908 crore for the Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP-3)
- ₹1087 crore for Mumbai Metro
- ₹499 crore for the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor
- ₹150 crore for MMR Green Urban Mobility
- ₹683 crore for Nagpur Metro
- ₹500 crore for the rejuvenation of the Nag River
- ₹814 crore for Pune Metro
- ₹690 crore for the conservation of the Mula-Mutha River
Fadnavis mentioned that, these allocations, covering around two-thirds of the total budget provisions, reflect a significant investment in enhancing Maharashtra’s infrastructure and agricultural sectors.
