The Aai Kusum Sahare Foundation is set to host the 18th edition of the Aai Kusum Sahare Memorial Football Tournament from August 5 to August 20 at Reshimbagh ground. Foundation President and former NMC Sports Committee Chairman Nagesh Sahare announced at a press conference that 70 teams have already confirmed their participation, with more expected to join the knock-out event.
The tournament will feature a total prize pool of ₹2.35 lakh. The winner will receive ₹1,00,000 and a trophy, while the runner-up will be awarded ₹50,000. Additional prizes include ₹30,000 for the second runner-up, ₹20,000 for fourth place, ₹15,000 for fifth place, ₹10,000 for sixth place, ₹7,000 for seventh place, and ₹5,000 for eighth place. Individual awards will include an LED TV for the best player and various prizes such as sports bicycles and mobile handsets for top performers, including the best player of each match and best defender. Finalist teams will also receive football kits.
Last year’s champions, Young Haider FC Teka Naka, will defend their title against runners-up Al Kausar FC Mominpura. The deadline for team registration is August 3, and entries can be confirmed at Vaishnavi Tower, Plot No 211, Reshimbagh.
